Overland Convoy

TO DEPART ON FRIDAY, 29 JULY 2011

The Muslim Judicial Council & Al Quds Foundation wishes to invite the media, community leaders, relief organizations and community to the historic departure of the Gaza awareness overland convoy & awareness campaign that will be departing from Cape Town on Friday, 29 July 2011 @ 14H45.

The collective humanitarian aid of South African’s from all walks of life who responded to the call by the Muslim Judicial Council and the Al Quds Foundation with the aim of liberating the people of Gaza from a strangling Israeli economic blockade will be leaving on Friday from Masjidur Rabi, Mitchells Plain.

The land convoy is the second part of the convoy, that will coincidence with the arrival of the shipment of humanitarian aid that left Durban harbor on th 14th July for Alexandria.

The land convoy (motorcade), which has now bolstered to +-100 volunteers in various 4×4 vehicles will depart from Masjidur Rabi in Mitchells Plain and then follow a symbolic tour of various mosques (see attached) in the Western with the final stop at the Macassar Mosque which is the birthplace of Islam in SA. The awareness convoy will continue to mosques in Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Gauteng, Polokwane before it crosses into Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi until it reaches Dares Salam in Tanzania.
