A sad day has dawned on the land of South Africa as the news of the passing of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela filters through the Nation. As the entire Nation slips into a deep state of mourn as we come to terms with the departure of a colossal figure of Tata Madiba, the Media Review Network South Africa sends its condolences to the Mandela family and the millions of souls that his legacy has inspired.
As our eyes are overrun by tears and our hearts shrouded in the veil of mourning, we remember and commemorate Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela’s life. A man that could only be described as a titan, as he embraced the struggle of the people against the Apartheid regime. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela’s crucial role in the establishment of Umkhonto we Sizwe (The Spear of the Nation) laid the foundation for various liberation movements and created a sense of brotherhood in all that transcended race, ethnicity, nationality and borders. His clarity of thought and determination inspired hope in every South African during the darkest days of our history. It was Tata’s sacrifices to heal the Nation despite enduring the brutal incarceration of Robben Island for 27 years that embossed his name in every heart.
His ability to avert a civil war after the assassination of Martin Thembisile Hani (Chris Hani) demonstrated not only to every citizen of the Republic of South Africa but to the World; the calibre of statesmanship that would usher in a new era of democracy in a land that had seen so much of oppression.
The Media Review Network South Africa is distraught by the news of the passing of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. Yet we remember and celebrate his resilience, mercy, kind hearted nature, dignity and his voice of truth against injustice. Tata Madiba has always been the Leader of the People, The Comrade of the African National Congress, A Cadre of Umkhonto we Sizwe and a Son of Mother Africa. Long live the Fight Justice Long Live.
To our beloved Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela – Hamba Kahle Mkhonto Umkhonto we Sizwe
