The Media Review Network (MRN) fully supports the application by the Muslim Lawyers Association and an Egyptian citizen, to have the Illegitimate Egyptian head of State, Fatah Al Sisi, arrested, when he attends the 25th Summit of the African Union. The Summit is presently underway at the Sandton Convention Center, in Johannesburg.
The first complainant, the Muslim Lawyers Association (MLA), represented by Adv. Feroze Boda, and the second complainant, Mr. Mohamed Reda Elorabi, an adult male Egyptian citizen with a valid South African work permit to reside and work in the Republic, have requested for the institution of criminal investigation against Al Sisi for international crimes committed and the referral of this complaint to the ICC and/or the arrest and prosecution of Al Sisi in South Africa, if and when he enters the Republic.
The request has been submitted to the relevant South African Authorities, including the South African Police Services (SAPS), the National Directorate of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) and the Department of Justice.
The MRN reminds the South African Government that the crimes committed by Al Sisi are universally condemned offences. Furthermore, war criminals are considered enemies of all human kind and our young democracy must not be seen as a safe haven for such criminals. We should project ourselves as a respectable member of the African Union and a responsible member of the International community. Therefore a quick resolution of this application must be treated as a matter of urgency.
For further information regarding this application, please contact the attorney of record in the matter, Attorney Yousha Tayob at 011 838 3342 or 082 926 5408.
