Intensify the call on government to severe all ties with Apartheid Israel!!

Mvezo Komkhulu (The Great Place), Saturday 16th December 2023: The vast mass of South Africans who are witnessing genocide in Gaza and all of Occupied Palestine unfolding before their very eyes will continue to intensify calls on government and the executive to sever all ties with Apartheid Israel as long as the blood of innocent civilians, women, elderly and newborn babies is being spilled, and as long as the occupation persists.

Its unconscionable to give the perpetrators and those who support them any assurances. They will reap the bitter consequences of their vile actions.

We call on President Cyril Ramaphosa to listen to the mass of our people as he listened to the grandstand supporters of genocide. The majority of people’s representatives in Parliament of the Republic have voted in favour of expelling the Apartheid Israel Ambassador and so have the masses of our people on the streets, on shop floors, campuses, mosques, churches, temples and other places of worship and social congregation.

President Ramaphosa is being soft on Apartheid Israel and is providing false assurance to those who support genocide financially, physically, and immorally. The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Campaign will continue to call for the isolation of Apartheid Israel and all business that support them in the same way that the Global Anti-Apartheid Movement supported our struggle and boycotted Apartheid South Africa.

We ask the President to tell the nation when the executive will enforce the Foreign Military Assistance Act and ensure that the 49 names provided to the NPA are prosecuted.

We must reiterate that those who are participating in genocide and those who fund it must be prosecuted. They are complicit in the killing of more than 20 000 innocent civilians, most of whom are women and children.

Whilst we laud South Africa’s unequivocal stand with the Palestinian people and their just struggle against occupation, ethnic cleansing and genocide, the President’s Boston Tea Party with the South African Jewish Board of Deputies (SAJBD) and the South African Zionist Federation is ill conceived, in bad taste and a betrayal of the Palestinian people and miscarriage of the will of the mass of South Africans.

We caution that any further mollycoddling of Zionists and supporters of genocide in Gaza and all of Occupied Palestine, may have dire consequences for the ANC in next year’s elections.

We have started to mobilise against the DA Provincial and local government and its allies for its blatant support for the occupation and genocide by Apartheid Israel. The DA took a firm stand with Ukraine but acts in the most gross form of hypocrisy when refusing to condemn Apartheid Israel’s war crimes, crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing in Gaza and all over Palestine.

We note with concern this cosy relationship with the SAJBD and the SAZF, whilst the leadership of the Palestinian resistance and international delegates of the 5th International Convention for Solidarity with Palestine were stopped by police and made to wait for three hours before being granted access to the statue of Madiba in a public space at the Union Buildings that tourists frequent daily. This on the day when global leaders from all sectors of society from some 72 countries came to honour the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the passing of President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. In true Palestinian spirit they faced the provocation with patience, resilience and revolutionary discipline.

It is this same resilience that can be expected from the Palestinian solidarity network and ordinary South Africans that will persist in mobilising until the Apartheid Israel Ambassador is expelled and South Africa cuts all diplomatic, economic, social, academic and Tea Party ties with Apartheid Israel.

We were cautioned by President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela in 1997 that the ANC (as party and government) had been infiltrated. A decade later (2007) President Thabo Mbeki said the same and added imagine if that was the case in 1997 to what extent that has grown. In 2017 during the ANC National Conference at Nasrec we realised what they meant when SAJBD was allowed to attend the conference. The Zionist lobby has truly infiltrated the ANC and our government.

There can never be normalization with Apartheid Israel whilst the occupation and genocide continues unabated and illegal settlements spread like wild fire. We will fight tooth and nail in the struggle for a liberated Palestine and the freedom of the Palestinian people and we shall remain steadfast and resilient for our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinian people .
