Repeated delays in Hoorzook bail hearing an affront to justice – MRN

By Ahmed Haroon Jazbhay

The Media Review Network expresses its deep concern and disappointment over repeated delays in processing the bail hearing of Ziyaad Hoorzook.

Arrested more than three weeks ago on ostensibly farcical ‘terror financing’ charges amounting to a paltry R11500 worth of Bitcoin to a Syrian charity, Ziyaad’s bail hearing was today once again postponed to 28 January for a decision.

We at MRN reiterate our assertion that Ziyaad Hoorzook is being positioned as the political fall guy by the NPA to get South Africa off the global financing greylist.

He is also being used as a distraction to appease the US and local Zionists whilst the NPA continues to pussyfoot over charging South Africans serving in the Israeli Occupation Forces in contravention of the Foreign Military Assistance Act.

From our assessment of the charges he faces, we at MRN believe the Ziyaad is being unfairly victimized in service of local and foreign interests.
