Iran launched the 86th wave of its military campaign, striking US bases across the region and Israeli targets, while escalating warnings that all American positions are now within reach.
Key Developments
- Iran launches Wave 86 targeting US bases and Israeli sites.
- IRGC claims destruction of AWACS aircraft at Al-Kharj.
- Strikes extend from Iraq and Gulf bases to Tel Aviv and Naqab (Negev).
Ongoing Epics
The spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Ibrahim Zolfaghari, announced the launch of the 86th wave of Operation True Promise 4, describing it as part of the “ongoing epics of the Iranian armed forces.”
He said the operation was carried out in multiple stages by the Aerospace and Naval Forces of the Revolutionary Guard, using a combination of missiles and drones to strike “vital American and Zionist targets in the region.”
According to the statement, the first phase targeted US military infrastructure, including air operations facilities, drone systems, and weapons depots at bases such as the ‘Victory’ in Iraq, the ‘Arifjan’ in Kuwait, and the ‘Al-Kharj’ in Saudi Arabia.
Zolfaghari said subsequent strikes expanded to include US positions and Israeli sites across a wide geographical range, including “Arad, the Negev, and Tel Aviv,” as well as Al Dhafra base in the UAE, Erbil in Iraq, and the US Fifth Fleet.
He added that Iranian forces also targeted “support equipment depots and US forces’ residences” at the Azraq base in Jordan, describing it as “a sensitive and vital operational platform” used for launching air operations.
The spokesman further said that an E-3G AWACS aircraft was “completely destroyed” at the Al-Kharj base, following earlier damage to refueling aircraft at the same site.
Iranian defenses also reportedly intercepted multiple drones, including two Orbiter drones over Khorramabad and another American drone in the eastern Strait of Hormuz.
Zolfaghari concluded that Iran would deliver “more crushing, powerful and impactful blows,” warning that US use of regional bases “exposes American forces to Iranian operations.”
Thousands in Shelters
The announcement came as missile exchanges between Iran and Israel intensified.
Iranian media reported multiple missile salvos launched toward Israel, including three salvos within a short period targeting southern areas such as the Negev, Dimona, and Arad, while sirens sounded across wide areas in southern Israel.
Israeli media said hundreds of thousands of residents rushed to shelters, as the Home Front Command issued repeated alerts following detected launches.
Israeli sources later claimed that some missiles were intercepted at high altitudes.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces carried out strikes on Iranian territory, targeting military infrastructure in Tehran, while Iranian officials reported four explosions in Qom province following US-Israeli missile attacks.
Iranian authorities said the country’s electricity grid remained stable despite overnight strikes, with power restored in affected areas.
Meanwhile, Iranian forces announced they had shot down five Israeli-made Hermes drones along the southern coast, adding that around 140 drones have been intercepted since the start of the US-Israeli aggression on February 28.
