Media Review Network (MRN) calls on the SA government as well as the AU to urgently intervene by ensuring that this humanitarian effort is allowed to proceed to Gaza.
The “Soumoud” (Resilience 2) land convoy—carrying over 350 activists and medical professionals from 30 countries—is halted on the outskirts of Sirte, Libya, awaiting clearance from eastern Libyan authorities to continue its journey toward the Egypt-Gaza border.
The caravan started in Algeria, crossed into Tunisia, and departed from Zawiya, Libya, hoping to reach the Rafah crossing via Egypt.
The convoy consists of 50 containers carrying essential humanitarian aid, mobile housing units, and five ambulances.
It is organized as an international grassroots effort featuring doctors, engineers, and volunteers aiming to deliver aid and establish a sustained civilian presence in Gaza.
