Here is a simple, stone cold fact. You cannot read or hear the truth about what is happening in Gaza from any corporate media in the United States. The only thing you will find there are regurgitations of Israeli spin, which are themselves only regurgitations of the kind of spin that American militarists have put on their own depredations — for centuries now. Up and down the American media and political establishments, you will find nothing but bleatings about Israel being "forced" to launch its vicious blunderbuss attacks against heavily populated Gaza because of the "recent spate of Hamas bombings" since the end of a six-month ceasefire.

The Disappearance Of Freedom Fighters

 I well remember the Warsaw Ghettos. Along with millions around the world I cheered the heroic resistance put up by the brave Jews holed up there. We were inspired by their courage and the spirit that refused to surrender even when faced with certain death. And we marveled at and praised their ingenuity in using the underground sewers as a supply line to smuggle in food, medicine and ammunition to the besieged freedom fighters and rescue the dying, the sick and the critically injured from that hellhole.

And we shed buckets of tears when that symbol of resistance against brute force was finally snuffed out.

Contrary to a text message and e-mails doing the rounds that says that Masjidul Aqsa has been surrounded by the Israeli Army, spokesperson for the Islamic Movement in Jerusalem, Sheikh Abdul Qadir Zahi Injadat confirmed that this is not the case. He told VOC News a short while ago, that Islam’s third holiest mosque, is not in any direct threat and that members of the Islamic Movement and Palestine 1948, are living inside the mosque.

Injadat said that on Friday Israeli police only allowed men 50 years and old, and women to enter the mosque for Jumuah prayers. He also confirmed that there are a number of blockades set up to limit access into the area. “We are protesting against this genocide in Gaza by marches and other protests…we are doing what we can to stop this crazy war that the Israeli’s are undertaking against our people.
