The world today is clearly demarcated into two parts. One is awfully poor, with little food and water, little or no education, no health services, no housing and very little essential services required for survival. Not knowing where the next meal is coming from remains a permanent feature of their lives.
The other is the affluence of the rich world which contributes directly to the deficiency of the poor. The ideologies of the West including capitalism, fascism, socialism and communism have controlled most if not all the natural resources of the world. Despite this, they have failed to close the gap between the have’s and the have not’s.
The blessed month of Ramadaan is drawing to a close. Among the many lessons taught during this month is to care for the poor, destitute and the needy. Hence the institution of Sadaqa-tul- Fitr. The wider implication for us is that we should not monopolise wealth and power. We have been warned against such practices. We should turn to the teachings of the Holy Quran and the life of the beloved Nabi of Allah (SAW).
Take heed of the following verse of the Holy Quran:
“ And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then surely I am very near; I will answer the prayer of anyone who calls upon me, so they should answer My call and believe in Me that they may walk in the right way”. (Q 2:186)
The Media Review Network wishes Muslims from all walks of life a momentous and a meaningful Eid-ul-Fitr.
May Allah-Al-Wahabu, the Remover of all difficulties be pleased with our sacrifices and efforts. Aameen.
