Kashmiri Medical Representatives (MRs) attend a demonstration in Srinagar. Hundreds of MRs today held a protest due to a shortage of life-saving medicines in the restive Kashmir valley. The MRs say the shortage is the result of an economic blockade of the Muslim-dominated region by Hindu protesters, who are reacting against the government’s decision to back down from allotting land to a Hindu shrine trust.
The aspiration of the Media Review Network is to dispel the myths and stereotypes about Islam and Muslims and to foster bridges of understanding among the diverse people of our country. The Media Review Network believes that Muslim perspectives on issues impacting on South Africans are a prerequisite to a better appreciation of Islam.
