PRESS RELEASE: MINARA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE INAUGURAL AWARDS.
At a splendid and impressive Inaugural Awards Evening, hosted by the Minara Chamber of Commerce in Durban, the Secretary General of the Media Review Network, Dr. Firoz Osman, was recognised for his sterling contribution to society in the category – MEDIA. The award was presented at a gala dinner and awards ceremony at which Mr. Jacob Zuma, President of the ANC was the keynote speaker .
The function, held on Wednesday 15th April 2009,was attended by about 1000 invited guests. In total 41 awards were issued in various categories.
The aspiration of the Media Review Network is to dispel the myths and stereotypes about Islam and Muslims and to foster bridges of understanding among the diverse people of our country. The Media Review Network believes that Muslim perspectives on issues impacting on South Africans are a prerequisite to a better appreciation of Islam.
