The US military says an American soldier has died from injuries sustained when his foot patrol came under arms attack in northern Baghdad.
The military says the soldier died in hospital yesterday, without identifying the date of the attack or giving further details.
According to a count by AFP based on independent website icasualties.org, the latest deaths brings to 4,147 the number of US soldiers killed in Iraq since the 2003 invasion,
