Ramaphosa: Act now to prevent forced displacement and genocide in Gaza

The Media Review Network calls upon President Cyril Ramaphosa to issue a strong condemnation of Zionist entity’s call for Gaza residents to move to the southern part of the Strip within 24 hours.

This explicit call by the Zionist settler colonial Prime Minister is tantamount to forced displacement, a crime according to international law.

In the wake of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, President Ramaphosa and the South African government called for the respect of a rules-based international order based on multilateralism.

Now it’s time for the president to walk the talk in relation to Israel’s unfolding genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip.

President Ramaphosa needs to act rather swiftly to eliminate the widely held perception that government is making a lot of noise over Palestine but in reality, continues to run on the spot.

The preservation of Palestinian life, in fact the lives of all people of the Global South, must be valued the same way as those of White folk from the Global North.

Humans rights and the right to self-determination must not be preserve of the Zionist entity and its partners in the Global North.

President Ramaphosa must ensure that South Africa plays its part in protecting Palestinian life, property and human rights.

This can be done in no small way by calling upon the Zionist entity to rescind its call for Palestinians in Gaza to relocate to South of the Strip.
