Respecting the sovereignty of nations
Is, we pray, a matter of state.
To kiss the farmer and shear the Boer,
Whilst trying to steal the land from il-filastin—
These are, we reaffirm, matters of state.
Mistreating those who come today with pain and disdain,
While you, Mr. Drumpft, only turned up yesterday—
This, too, is a matter of state.
Geronimo’s people demand their land back,
A piercing arrow, a legacy to heal—
This too, the ancients cry, is a matter of state.
All in, after all, matters of state,
Not a matter for real estate.
