The Middle East policies of US President Barack Obama may well prove the most detrimental in history so far, surpassing even the rightwing policies of President George W. Bush. Even those who warned against the overt optimism which accompanied Obama’s arrival to the White House must now be stunned to see how low the US president will go to appease Israel – all under the dangerous logic of needing to keep the peace process moving forward.
Former Middle East peace diplomat Aaron David Miller argued in Foreign Policy that “any advance in the excruciatingly painful world of Arab-Israeli negotiations is significant.” He further claimed: “The Obama administration deserves much credit for keeping the Israelis, Palestinians, and key Arab states on board during some very tough times. The U.S. president has seized on this issue and isn’t giving up — a central requirement for success.”
But at what price, Mr. Miller? And wouldn’t you agree that one party’s success can also mean another’s utter and miserable failure?
Secretary of State Hilary Clinton reportedly spent eight hours with
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu only to persuade him to accept
one of the most generous bribes ever bestowed by the United States on
any foreign power. The agreement includes the sale of $3 billion worth
of US military aircrafts (in addition to the billions in annual aid
packages), a blanket veto of any UN Security Council resolution deemed
unfavorable to Israel, and the removal of East Jerusalem from any
settlement freeze equation (thus condoning the illegal occupation of the
city and the undergoing ethnic cleansing). But even more dangerous than
all of these is “a written American promise that this will be the last
time President Obama asks the Israelis to halt settlement construction
through official channels.”

“They are marching to freedom, while we march to surrender.”
These were my mother’s words as she reacted spontaneously, but intensely to the Egyptian and Tunisian revolutions and lamented over Palestinians’ self-inflicted wounds emanating from the Palestinian Authority and its numerous failures.
Economic dependency and an oppressive security state is the recipe that many dictatorial, one-person, or one-party regimes apply across the region. This model was followed by the once American-supported, and then American-deposed Saddam Hussein, to Libya’s Muammar Qaddafi, who was first a pariah in the West and then became its darling, to Tunisia’s Zine El Abedine Ben Ali who was overthrown by his people, among others.
And while the Egyptian people stand steadfast in an effort to overthrow their own Pharoah, a similar “pharoah regime” is steadily being built for Palestinians in the West Bank. It is not only surrender we are marching to, but we are marching — under PA tutelage — toward a typical one-party, pseudo-security state.
“Pseudo” because it is not even a state — this entity exists under Israeli occupation. And the “security” is increasingly repressive towards dissenting voices, groups and political parties.

For all those Israeli’s who believed that Obama had introduced a new element into the rather stagnant peace process by mentioning the forbidden words “The 1967 Borders”, were well placated by Obama, who in sentence after sentence recieved rapturous applause from an audience braying for Palestinian blood.
Obama challenged every UN resolution & Internattional law, that auctaully provide a basis for the solution of the Palestine-Israel conflict. He clearly restated Netanyahu’s position that “the changes that have taken place over the last 44 years, including the new demographic realities on the ground” need to be taken into account. He clearly stated that the two sides will negotiate a border “that is different from the one that existed on June 4, 1967.”
These is the precise position & words that Netanyahu has been scripting. Thus Obama has accepted the fact that the illegal Settlements that house 500,000 armed fanatical settlers, that continue to be built on the Palestinian lands of 1967 & are to be part of a future Jewish state of Israel. Thus we have Obama negating UN Resolution 242, which calls upon Israel to withdraw from the Occupied territories of the war of 1967 & for a resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict so that a durable & just peace is ensured for all.
This is true to his recent form at the UN, where the US vetoed the resolution condemning the Israeli Settlements as illegal This is also in direct contravention of UN resolution 446 adopted on March 22, 1979 that stated “that the policy and practices of Israel in establishing settlements in the Palestinian and other Arab territories occupied since 1967 have no legal validity and constitute a serious obstruction to achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East”.
There is a method to Obama’s seeming madness, where we see how he has undermined the UN & International Law to launch his very own war on Libya & the expansion of the conflict in Pakistan. Obama went into his ramble on Israel’s security & the total commitment of America, who despite a financial crunch have raised support & that the US will guarantee that Israel maintain the military edge with the latest weaponary ensured.
