In occupied Kashmir, APHC leader and the patron of Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi, Muhammad Azam Inqilabi has condemned the stepped up human rights abuses by Indian troops.

In a statement issued in Srinagar, deplored the victimization of innocent Kashmiri youth by the troops. He denounced the killing of two youth, Wamiq Farooq Wani and Zahid Farooq in Srinagar.

He appealed the world community to take cognisance of the rights violations perpetrated by the troops in the occupied territory. “The resolution of the Kashmir dispute between the two nuclear rivals, Pakistan and India, is vital to peace and stability in South Asia,” he added. The APHC leader said that the occupation authorities were arresting the pro-freedom leaders and activists to suppress the freedom movement. He also denounced the illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Dr Qasim Fuktoo. Urging Pakistan and India to resolve the longstanding dispute according to the aspirations of the people of Kashmir, he said that over one lakh Kashmiris had been martyred by the troopers during the past twenty years. He emphasised to resolve the lingering dispute through trilateral talks involving Pakistan, India and the real leadership of Kashmiris.
