MRN Obituary: Yusuf Rajah

The sudden passing of Yusuf Suliman Rajah will leave a huge void in the lives of his dear family as well as friends, colleagues and fellow travellers in pursuit of knowledge.

He will be remembered for his deep commitment to Islamic scholarship and an undying thirst for knowledge.

Humble and soft spoken, Yusuf’s love for humanity, justice and unstinting sharing of the noble values of Islamic philosophy, will stand out as a beacon for the many he touched over decades.

His keen appreciation of media as a means to educate and transform society from passivity to active participation saw him hosting regular radio programs on the former “Voice” platform.

A keen debater, Yusuf was unafraid of courting controversy to provoke and stimulate lazy minds. As a thought-leader, his immense contribution will remain a legacy for many generations.

As an ardent supporter of justice for all downtrodden, Yusuf’s activism will be sorely missed. As an ardent supporter of Media Review Network and a valuable participant in the monthly forays of the Rashid Nosarka Forum, Yusuf’s gentle yet powerful intellectual mind made a huge impact.

We at Media Review Network are deeply saddened by his passing. We express our sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues and offer our duas to Almighty Allah to reward him with eternal bliss in the afterlife.
