The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) is calling for the immediate arrest of Alon Elgali, owner of Meshek Afar Ltd., who is currently in London. Meshek Afar has been operating in Gaza, using heavy machinery to demolish civilian infrastructure, including homes and mosques, in Rafah—acts that HRF asserts constitute genocide and war crimes.

London, November 2024 – The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) urgently demands the arrest of Alon Elgali, owner of Meshek Afar Ltd., who is currently in London for a private event. Mr. Elgali’s company recently entered Gaza, deploying heavy machinery to assist in the demolition of civilian infrastructure, including homes and mosques, in Rafah. These actions have directly contributed to the systematic targeting and destruction of civilian areas in what constitutes acts of genocide and war crimes.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has already deemed Israeli actions in Rafah unlawful, yet Mr. Elgali’s involvement, through Meshek Afar Ltd., has escalated these violations with his company’s active role in flattening entire neighborhoods. The HRF considers these operations a deliberate assault on civilians and sacred spaces, an undeniable breach of international humanitarian law, and a reprehensible contribution to ongoing genocide.

The Hind Rajab Foundation will officially request that UK authorities arrest Mr. Elgali immediately and investigate Meshek Afar Ltd.’s role in these actions.
The HRF is unwavering in its pursuit of justice for those who have suffered under these egregious acts. We call on the international community to recognize these offenses for what they are—a genocide—and to join us in our efforts to end impunity for the perpetrators of such grave violations.
