Attack against freedom flotilla is a terrorist act a crime against humanity

Neurosis can make people say stupid things. Given the nonsense coming out from Zionist propaganda both in Palestine and in Europe , the Israeli establishment must be freaking out.

It is amazing how a government in possession of nuclear weapons is afraid of eight ships of peace activists loaded with humanitarian aids and hope heading to Gaza , transformed by the Zionists into an open-air concentration camp.

Arrogance being the main ingredient of the Israeli occupation authorities, also thanks to an inefficient "international community" and corrupt Western governments, this flotilla leaving from the main European ports and in its way to Gaza was certainly seen as a challenge to their self-styled authority.

In response to the Israeli attack on the Gaza-bound Freedom Flotilla on Monday, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei issued a statement on Tuesday in which he strongly condemned Israel’s blatant disregard of human rights and flagrant breach of international law.

Following is an excerpt of Ayatollah Khamenei’s statement:

The outrageous attack the Zionist regime conducted on the humanitarian aid flotilla represents another link in the chain of numerous crimes this wicked regime has committed and which the seventh decade of its ignoble existence is filled with.

This is an example of the brutal acts of violence that Muslims in this region and the Palestinian people in particular have endured for decades.

The "peaceful" take-over of the Rachel Corrie ship which was en-route to Gaza to deliver much needed aid was nothing more than a publicity stunt by the Israeli government. This was the view of Greta Berlin from the Free Gaza Movement, who spoke to VOC News on Saturday from Cyprus, shortly after news broke that the Israeli military had taken command of the ship.

The Rachel Corrie was seized five days after Israeli commando’s raided the freedom flotilla during the early hours of Monday morning. During this raid nine people were killed and 20 people were injured.  "They are going to turn this into a big photo opportunity for them because it has been a huge public relations disaster for them.

South Africa must cut all ties with Isarael

South Africa’s response to the dastardly act of piracy and blatant savagery by the Israeli regime is reflective of a global mood that is increasingly becoming less tolerant of contemptuous disregard for international obligations flowing from a variety of conventions.

In addition to the decision to recall its Tel Aviv based ambassador, South Africa has also summoned the Israeli ambassador and presented him with a demarche, the strongest possible diplomatic protest short of expulsion. And included among 31 nations on the UN Human Rights Council, South Africa voted in support of a resolution that condemned Israel’s outrageous attack and endorsed a full inquiry into the incident.

These moves have been welcomed by an array of civil society groups as well as the powerful labour movement COSATU. Muslim and Christian leaders alike from formations such as the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC) and the South African Council of Churches (SACC) have welcomed this fresh and significant intervention by the Zuma presidency. All in all it would be accurate to conclude that the government’s decisions are in line with views held by the majority of this country’s population.

Though government’s position is being attacked – not unexpected, by the troika of Israeli defense lobbies as “premature and inappropriate and disproportionate”, it is apparent that despite claiming to speak for South African Jewry, the SA Jewish Board of Deputies, the SA Zionist Federation and the Chief Rabbi do not hold any monopoly on Jewish voices.
