Declare Isarael a terrorist state

A new video released by the Israeli government shows one of soldiers who took part in yesterday’s bloody attack on the Gaza Freedom flotilla, killing 10 people.  In this propaganda clip, the soldier justifies the attack, claiming they were attacked first. “It was a lynch,” says the soldier. “Every guy that came down the ropes was taken aside, and everyone there had metal rods, knives, slingshots, glass bottles.” Since the Israelis can only be victims, and never aggressors, the soldier tries to justify the cold-blooded murder of people armed with “rods, slingshots and bottles.”

Enough is enough. It’s time to declare Israel a terrorist state. That’s what is it. It reacts to slingshots with machine guns. It allows its tanks to fire at stone-throwing kids. It has no qualms about firing rockets on Palestinian hospitals and residential areas, all this in the name of fighting the terror tactics of Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip. It’s difficult to defend the activities Hamas, but we can’t forget the fact that it was constant humiliation of PLO and leaders like Yasser Arafat by Israel that gave birth to groups like Hamas.

Chilling testimony from one of the passengers on board the marmara

(source: Al Jazeera Blog)

It was this time last week that I was on the top deck of the Mavi Marmara, and first spotted Israeli war ships in the distance, as they approached the humanitarian flotilla.  Little did I know how deadly and bloody were the36that soon began to unfold.

What I will write in this entry is fact, every letter of it, none of it is opinion, none of it is analysis, and I will leave that to you, the reader.

After spotting the warships at a distance, (at roughly 11pm) the organisers called for passengers to wear their life vests and remain indoors as they monitored the situation. The naval war ships together with helicopters remained in the distance for several hours.

Israelis sink again on new medias high seas

(source: Businessday, Wed,9-06-2010, pg11)

The activists on the flotilla that sought to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza last week had multiple video cameras beaming live40from their ships on to satellites, and from there to the internet, and it was made available to any television network that needed images. They had media people posted in third countries, available to answer questions and feed information.

The Israelis appeared to be armed with almost as many cameras as guns when they raided and seized the boats. One of the first things they did was to cut off the activists’ international media links.

The Israelis quickly released their own — carefully edited — footage to show that their soldiers were attacked as they landed on the boats. They seized all the cameras, film and video they could from journalists and activists on the boat, and edited it before releasing those bits that matched their own version of what happened.
